President Uhuru Kenyatta will be unavailable for an entire month after the Jamhuri Day celebrations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said in a notice to all Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations.
President Kenyatta will neither be available for public engagements nor phone calls until January 15 unless they are emergencies.
The Ministry noted that 2020 had been a challenging year with the COVID-19 pandemic necessitating virtual engagements, increasing the workload and making it more complex.
In case or emergencies, requests to the president will have to be channeled through the Principal Secretary, or his designated representative.
